“Technology experts believe it is more than just a gimmick and this new application of existing CD-ROM technology looks set to shake up the more traditional world of business cards”
(source BBC News)
CD Business Cards are a revolutionary credit card sized CD-ROM or CD-R which will play in any standard computer CD drive and offer clients the opportunity to capture an edge in the sales presentation market. They are currently still more expensive than a normal CD, but the prices are becoming lower as manufacturers gear up for larger production runs. At Toucan eMedia we have structured our prices to be competitive for the quality of services and products we deliver which is why international businesses with household names are content with our handing of their public image.
You can store everything that your customers need to know about your business, from a full company presentation to details of products, services and employees, interactive maps, databases and automatic links to the company’s web site. You can store music and sound tracks, even include a voice-over if necessary.
Two fundamental types of card are available; CD-R recordable cards and CD ROM factory produced cards. The decision is on which type is appropriate for you is largely based on quantity. For quantities greater than 500 of one single on body design and dataset the CD ROM can be considered. For quantities of 500 or less the CD-R is the practical choice.
IMPORTANT All cards supplied by Toucan eMedia are moulded or precision milled. We do not supply any CD-ROM or CD-R business cards with punched out positioning pins due to the risk of breakage or damage to the CD-ROM player or CD-R re-writer.
All our cards are grade A quality and can be used safely as they fit snugly into the tray of the CD-ROM player.
ebusiness-cards.co.uk – The CDR business card is typically available as a 50MB card. Where a recordable card is required with more capacity the DVD Business Cards is an option. The design of the CDR Business Card has a raised section on the reverse silvered side which fits the inner 80mm ring of the CD player; this offers improved readability and reliability over other designs.
What differentiates a CDR from a CD-ROM is that it is factory produced as a recordable blank for “recording” later and then the data and on-body image is applied later.
From placement of order, receipt of the the on-body design, and/or the final data master on a CD-R disc to delivery the period is usually 7 business days, however we have an express route and have turned some projects around in a couple of business days. For a CDR Business Card project we’ll advise and help you through every step of the preparation and production procedure.
Your can supply a match print of your on-body design and any notes of any specific colours to match, if necessary.
Typically the CDR Cards are produced using high resolution printed photo-quality labels, though under certain circumstances we can offer litho and digital printing. We’ll be pleased to advise the best printing process based on your requirements if you provide us with your proposed artwork.
